Session 14 - Discovering Employee RIM Practices Through an Employee Survey – A Case Study

When we initiated a survey of all city employees in Summer 2022, we expected the results to confirm what we thought we already knew about employee records and information management habits. We were in for a big surprise when we reviewed the survey results!  What we learned caused us to re-examine not only our self-assessment on the Information Governance Maturity Model, but also our assumptions about employees’ RIM knowledge and practices.

Come learn about how listening to our users (and challenging our assumptions) helped us build a better and more accessible RIM program.

Attendees will learn:

  • How to create and promote a staff survey that maximizes the quality and quantity of feedback received
  • How to use an employee survey as an outreach tool to promote your RIM program
  • I have feedback, now what?! How to transform survey responses into actionable improvements to your RIM program
  • What not to do: Lessons learned

Attendees will learn about conducting an employee survey, including how to create meaningful questions, and how to take action on the responses received.

Target Audiences: Federal, State/Tribal, Local, Public, Institutions of Higher Learning
