May 2020 - The Write Stuff: Tips and Tricks for Getting the Grant
Overview: With decreasing budgets, applying for the right grant and writing a successful grant proposal is very important. The first part of this webinar will discuss how to find the right grant for your project, the importance of grant guidelines, and how to make sure you have covered all aspects of your project in your grant proposal. The second part of this webinar will take a look at how small, underserved programs especially can take advantage of grant opportunities, and will provide insider info about successfully applying for the new NAGARA Internship Program.
Part A: The Basics of Writing a Successful Grant Proposal
Finding the right grant for your project is only the first step in writing a grant proposal. The beginning of this webinar will cover why following grant guidelines is mandatory for a successful proposal. It will also cover how to break your project into manageable sections to cover all the pertinent information required and create coherent overview of your project.
Part B: Every Fairy Grant-Mother Loves a Cinderella Story
Ms. Rebekah Davis will share the lessons she has learned on both sides of the grant-writing coin, from submitting successful grant applications for everything from supplies to an entire renovation of her facility to reviewing grant applications for local, state, and national-level grants, as well as the inaugural NAGARA Internship Program. She will discuss finding the “sweet spot” where your mission and the grantor’s mission align, how to show that you can achieve the stated goal, and how under-served programs can have an advantage in obtaining much-needed grant funds.
