Overview: This webinar will explore the processes and strategies used to implement comprehensive file plan initiatives at diverse institutions through collaboration of key strategic partners. The webinar focuses on Dartmouth's collaborative work between Records Management, Archives and ITC, as well as how lessons learned at Dartmouth can be applied beyond academic environments such as local municipalities, counties, and State and Federal Government agencies. Presenters will share their specific experiences as Records Analysts, Archivists, IT Programmers, Analysts and Project Managers in the development and implementation of comprehensive file plan initiatives. Participants will learn about what a comprehensive file plan is, the importance of collaboration, and how to fully utilize a file plan to achieve compliance, user engagement, and successful ECM system implementation.
Participants will also be able to take the tools and strategies learned from this session to customize their own file planning initiative to achieve success at their institutions. Take-aways from this training will be an example of a comprehensive file plan and a workflow chart describing the file planning process.
