Solicitation for Comments: NARA's 2018-2022 Strategic Plan
8/24/17 1:00 pm
I am pleased to share and invite your comments on the draft 2018-2022 Strategic Plan of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
NARA, like all other agencies across the Federal government, is required to produce a strategic document every four years. The draft available today is the next step in meeting the requirement to deliver a plan in February 2018. Our Strategic Plan describes how NARA will meet our ambitious vision. We take this process very seriously.
As we develop our plan, we are seeking input from partners and stakeholders like you. The concerns of our stakeholders are important to us in this process, and your contributions have been very valuable to us in the past.
A copy of the draft Strategic Plan is available on GitHub at https://usnationalarchives.github.io/strategic-plan.
If you have comments or suggestions for the Plan, please click the "Discuss" link in GitHub. Instructions on providing feedback through GitHub can be found at https://usnationalarchives.github.io/strategic-plan/feedback/. GitHub requires reviewers to establish an account in order to comment, but it is quick and easy to create an account.
A copy of the draft Strategic Plan is also available on Archives.gov (http://archives.gov/about/plans-reports/strategic-plan/draft-strategic-plan). You may submit comments by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We ask that you review this document with particular attention to the content that would be changed from our current Plan, covering 2014 to 2018 (available at https://www.archives.gov/about/plans-reports/strategic-plan). Our new draft Plan retains NARA’s mission, vision, values, and our four high-level strategic goals; however, we have updated our strategic objectives to reflect changes in priorities and more aggressive targets.
Please submit your comments by September 1, 2017. We realize that this is an aggressive timeline, and we apologize for the short turnaround time.
If you have any questions about our Plan or the review process, please email email@example.com.
Thank you for taking the time to participate in our strategic planning process.
