LOCAL GOVERNMENT RECORDS MANAGEMENT TECHNICAL BULLETINS
NAGARA and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) have
collaborated on a number of Technical Bulletins on basic records
management. The Bulletins may be useful to municipal and county
administrators who are responsible for maintaining public records and
who do not have a records management specialist on staff. The first 15
bulletins which appear below were published in 2012 and 2013. Links to
those publications are followed by a file containing the six chapters in
the NAGARA - IIMC Records Management Technical Bulletin Series
published in 2000. The chapters in that publication are titled: Starting
a Records Management Program, Funding Your Records Management Project,
Identifying and Locating Your Records, Establishing Records Retention,
Developing a Records Storage System, and Making Your Records Management Program Successful.
Finally, that publication is followed by five RM technical bulletins
published in the 1990s. The publication of the bulletins in all three
series were funded, in part, by grants from the National Historical
Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC).
