Conference Overview
The 2022 NAGARA Annual Conference, themed "Exploring the Information Wilds," marked NAGARA's return to an in-person Annual Conference after a two-year pause during the pandemic. Held July 13 through 16 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the event brought together government archivists, records managers, and information professionals eager to reconnect with the profession and with each other.
The conference program offered more than 25 concurrent learning sessions alongside two keynote speaker sessions, giving attendees the chance to dig into topics ranging from digital records governance and AI in archival practice to public records transparency and disaster recovery planning. Government Networking Groups gave attendees a chance to connect with peers working at the federal, state, local, and university levels.
Two off-site evening receptions rounded out the week: an Opening Welcome Reception at the Utah State Capitol Rotunda, and a Closing Evening Networking Reception at This Is the Place Heritage Park. A vibrant exhibit hall gave attendees the opportunity to connect with dozens of industry suppliers and vendors throughout the event.
Audio recordings of each session, along with presenters' PowerPoint presentations, are available below to all active NAGARA members.
After two years apart, the 2022 NAGARA Annual Conference was a welcome return to shared learning and connection. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Salt Lake City as we explored the information wilds together, and helped set the course for NAGARA's next chapter.
